To install IPTV on an Android TV or Google TV, install Downloader from the Google Play Store, open it, type 395800 (Hot Player) or 511693 (IBO Player) and press GO, allow the install, then add your M3U link from your phone. It takes about 10 minutes.
This works on every TV and box running Android TV or Google TV: Sony, Philips, TCL, Xiaomi, Nokia, Sharp, Hisense Google TV, Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield and generic Android boxes.
Why not just use the Play Store?
Because the real players are not there. Hot Player was removed from the Google Play Store, and the apps called "IBO Player" that you find on the Play Store are look-alikes from other developers, not the official IBO Player. Installing through Downloader with the codes below gets you the genuine apps.
What you need
- An Android TV / Google TV device connected to the internet
- An IPTV subscription — or a free 24-hour test, no card needed
- Your M3U link (delivery email, and your account page under Subscriptions)
- A phone or computer for the last step
- At least 15 Mbps for HD, 30 Mbps for 4K
The codes
| Player | Downloader code |
|---|---|
| Hot Player | 395800 |
| IBO Player | 511693 |
Undecided? Hot Player vs IBO Player explains the difference in two minutes.
Step 1: Install Downloader from the Play Store
On the TV's home screen, open the Google Play Store, search for Downloader and install the one by AFTVnews.

Step 2: Download the player with its code
- Open Downloader and allow it to access files if asked.
- In the URL field, type 395800 (Hot Player) or 511693 (IBO Player).
- Press GO and wait for the download to finish.
Step 3: Allow the install
Select Install. The first time, Android usually blocks it with a message that Downloader is not allowed to install unknown apps. That is normal:
- Select Settings in the message (or go to Settings › Apps › Security & restrictions › Unknown sources; the wording varies by brand).
- Switch it on for Downloader.
- Go back to Downloader and select Install again.
When the app is installed, select Done and let Downloader delete the installation file to save space.
Step 4: Note the MAC address
Open the player from your apps list. Its first screen shows:
- Hot Player: a MAC address
- IBO Player: a MAC address and a device key
Write them down. This is the app's code, not your TV's network MAC address.

Step 5: Add your subscription
On your phone or computer:
- Hot Player:
hotplayer.app/upload→ MAC address → Source Link → paste M3U link → Save. Guide: How to activate Hot Player. - IBO Player:
iboplayer.com/device/activate→ MAC address + device key → Add Playlist → paste M3U link → Save. Guide: How to activate IBO Player.
Close the player on the TV and reopen it — your channels, movies and series load.
Both players are paid apps licensed per device; a licence is included free with our 12-month, 24-month and Lifetime plans via the Applications page (activated by our team within 24 hours).
Troubleshooting
"For your security, your TV is not allowed to install unknown apps"
Allow unknown apps for Downloader specifically (step 3). On some TVs the setting is under Settings › Device Preferences › Security & restrictions.
Downloader isn't in the Play Store on my TV
Search for "Downloader by AFTVnews". If your TV has no Google Play Store at all, it is not an Android TV — it may be VIDAA, LG webOS or Samsung Tizen.
App installed but no channels
Make sure you linked the playlist to the MAC address the app shows, then fully close and reopen the app.
Buffering
Use Ethernet where possible, restart the router, and check nobody else streams on the same line. Full checklist: IPTV buffering: what actually works.
FAQ
Is the IBO Player on the Play Store the real one?
No. Apps named "IBO Player" on the Play Store come from other developers. Use code 511693 in Downloader to get the official app.
Does this work on a Chromecast with Google TV or Nvidia Shield?
Yes. Both run Google TV / Android TV, so the steps are the same.
Can I use the same steps on an Android phone?
Yes — or use the free MYTVOnline+ app from the Play Store, which needs no MAC address at all. See IPTV on Android phones.
Is one subscription enough for two TVs?
You can install on both, but one subscription is one stream at a time. Two screens at once needs a second subscription.
